What is Old Town Krampusnacht?
Krampusnacht in historic Old Town Lansing is our annual celebration of all things Krampus — St. Nicholas's counterpart from central European folklore. We're proud to be the second-largest Krampus festival in the nation, and growing every year.
This year's event takes place Saturday, Dec. 5, 3-8 p.m.
What to expect
Each year on a crisp December evening, Lansing's historic Old Town district transforms from urban creative haven into a deep and eerie alpine forest festival, celebrating the holiday season with our own unique twist on Bavarian folklore that's fun for the whole family.
Revel in merriments such as:

- A festive market featuring the designs of our art and maker community, holiday activities, and unique goods from local vendors.
- Children’s activities like hot cocoa, coloring, storytelling, and candy from ol’ St. Nick himself.
- Entertainment and fire dancers.
- A procession of costumed Krampus figures, performers, and traditional folklore characters.
- Our annual Krampus parade through town.
- Seasonal food trucks, warming stations, and holiday-themed treats.
- Old Town’s local boutiques, cozy bars, and restaurants open late for commerce, fellowship, and whimsy.
